Lacon was born in Dudley in 1985 and lives and works in Birmingham. He gained a Photography BA at the University of Plymouth and an MA in Fine Art from the Royal College of Art, graduating in 2011. He is currently Wheatley Fine Art Fellow at the Birmingham Institute of Art and Design, and Research Fellow for the Centre for Fine Art Research, Birmingham City University. Amongst other awards and grants, he was nominated for the Deutsche Borse Photography Prize, 2014. Lacon recently received the Arts Council England and British Council International Development Fund, to visit China this year and premiering new work at Unseen, Amsterdam in September with Division of Labour. Lacon has exhibited extensively in the UK in both solo and group exhibitions.

Andrew is part of the collaborative exhibition that is Plane Materials, open through the Biennial at the University of Brighton Gallery.
